At the tender age of three, Nirva Derbekyan sketched her very first piece:
an inspired patchwork boot. Since then, she has worked to cultivate
her passion and hone her technique -- to manifest her artistic abstractions in garments. She received her degree in Fashion Design from the Massachusetts College of Art, and is a two-time recipient of the Fashion Award for Excellence. She has worked for numerous fashion houses, in Boston and abroad. Her work is vibrant, feminine, and rich with nuanced detail, influenced by the diversity of her Armenian heritage. From the finest French seams, to delicate, semi-precious gemstones stitched in place entirely by hand, she finishes each garment with an attention to detail that speaks to her true love for both her work and her many clients. |
